Intensive In-Home Therapeutic Services

At Multicultural Clinical Center of Virginia (MCCVA), we specialize in community-based behavioral health services designed to stabilize, reunify, and support families facing emotional, relational, and behavioral challenges.

  • Our cross-cultural team provides therapeutic interventions that are individualized, trauma-informed, and rooted in clinical excellence.

Start Intake

  • This program offers a structured, community-based alternative to residential treatment for children under 16 who require intensive, high-frequency therapeutic intervention. Services may include daily visits and several hours of support per day, based on clinical need, until the child achieves a stable baseline.

  • If the child is already receiving Children’s Services Act (CSA) funded services, an updated purchase order is required. All referrals begin with a clinical assessment by a licensed MCC provider to determine risk and confirm the child can be safely treated in the home.

\

  • Designed to prevent hospitalization and restore stability, the program uses evidence-based interventions to strengthen coping skills and enhance child and family functioning

  • Treatment is delivered through a collaborative, multidisciplinary team that may include the referring case manager, MCC clinicians, the child’s family (when available), and other relevant professionals. This team-based approach fosters flexible, individualized planning and supports positive outcomes for at-risk youth.

Supervised Visitation – Monitored

Provides structured observation and documentation of parent–child interactions, with a strong focus on ensuring safety for all participants. Visits are typically conducted by trained staff or clinicians and may include written summaries for court or service planning purposes.

Supervised Visitation – Therapeutic

Combines observation with active coaching and modeling of parenting skills to strengthen the caregiver–child relationship.

This therapeutic model promotes safe, meaningful interactions and may include documentation of visits, court testimony, and collaboration with service planning teams.

This level includes:

  • Strengthening attachment and bonding

  • Enhancing the child’s socio-emotional development

  • Building effective communication and discipline strategies

  • Providing psychoeducation on child development

This service follows clinical best practices to promote safe, effective reunification—centered on the child’s well-being and the family’s overall readiness. It is recommended when a child is preparing to return home or has recently been reunified.

Sessions may include individuals, dyads (such as parent and child), or the full family, depending on the treatment goals outlined during assessment.

Throughout the process, the child’s safety remains the top priority.

MCC clinicians work closely with local county agencies to monitor progress, respond to emerging needs, and support long-term family stability.

Children are matched with a screened and trained counselor for individualized mentoring that fosters supportive, one-on-one relationships.

Mentors serve as positive role models while helping youth build social skills, improve communication, and develop problem-solving strategies.

Sessions take place in the home, school, or other approved settings with guardian consent.
