Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA)

MCC’s ABA Program specializes in the use of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to reduce maladaptive behaviors and increase functional communication, social skills and adaptive living skills. We serve children in the Autism Spectrum and with other developmental delays or disabilities who benefit from home-based services through an individualized service plan (ISP), tailored to enhance their particular strengths, reduce their interfering behaviors and acquire the necessary skills that lead to a better functioning in the less restrictive environment.

ABA is a research-based science and interventions are developed based on a Functional Behavior Assessment. MCC uses a multidisciplinary and multi-systemic approach that offers:

  • One-on-one Discrete Trial Training (DTT) and Natural Environmental Teaching (NET) with a team including Qualified and Registered Behavior Technicians and Board-Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs).
  • Ongoing family trainings to improve caregivers’ behavior management of their children through the implementation of appropriate behavior interventions in the home and in the community settings.
  • Case management and coordination with schools and other service providers to better achieve common goals for the client.

Treatment Goals

The Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Program goals for service are intended to:

  • Reduce the client’s problematic behaviors
  • Increase the client’s functional communication
  • Increase the client’s socially significant behaviors
  • Increase the client’s functioning in his daily life activities
  • Increase the family’s ability to effectively address the client’s behavior in the general environment.
